In 2016 the East Providence Arts Council received a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation to commission the sculpture "Rigging". This sculpture became the centerpiece in the new sculpture park at the end of Warren Ave in between Valley St and Waterfront Dr. On June 6, 2017 the city council passed a resolution officially naming the park "Watchemocket Sculpture Garden" Landscape architect Kevin Alverson was hired by EPAC to create a master design for the park which calls for more sculptures, seating walls, a gabion decorative wall, walkways, and decorative flowers and bushes. The Arts Council working with community partners is securing funding for these amenities. In 2017 EPAC received a grant from RI foundation for the seating walls and a legislative grant towards plants and stones for the landscape design.Currently we are accepting donations for more amenities like benches and bike racks for the park. We know with community support we can bring this wonderful park to life. We thank you for your patience and support and look forward to seeing the project come to completion.
EPAC is currently accepting donations towards completing our landscape design. Donations are tax deductible. Thank you for your support.
